CONquest 2023: Bridging fans and creators alike

GAMING AND pop culture convention CONQuest Festival 2023 is finally coming to Manila from June 2 to 4 at the SMX Convention Center, Conrad Manila, Mall of Asia (MoA), and National University MoA.

CONQuest goes beyond the typical creator convention as it bridges the gap between fans while highlighting the local esports scene. Through the event, fans can now interact with their favorite creators, enjoy live music, and attend the AcadArena Alliance Games Season 3 playoffs.

Housing the popular, the local, and the familiar

Joining the event lineup are numerous heavyweight names such as content creators Valkyrae and Pokimane, as well as popular Filipino celebrities like James Reid. CONQuest also features many up-and-coming creators who have managed to establish themselves well into their respective spaces. One of the standouts in this roster is Sean Chiplock, an American voiceover artist that has built his own presence for portraying well-beloved characters such as Diluc from Genshin Impact.

The event includes talks and panels that cater to esports and pop culture enthusiasts, allowing creators to further develop a connection with their fans and vice versa. With more than 70 speakers and exhibitors, the convention aims to celebrate everything that involves gaming, pop culture, music, and tech.

Beyond fan interaction and meets

An important leg the event stands on is its focus on gaming culture—particularly the Philippine esports scene. CONQuest will hold the Alliance Games playoffs, an esports tournament where competitors battle it out in exciting and nail-biting Call of Duty-Mobile (COD:M), League of Legends (LOL), and Valorant matches. Among the participants is the Ateneo student-led esports team LG Esports, in which its representatives LG Hydra and LG Altair will be competing in LOL and COD:M, respectively. The two teams will be vying for the championship title as they will be competing against other collegiate esports teams in the quarterfinals on June 2.

While the event itself is known for platforming online creators and figures from the gaming community, it also spotlights local artists such as Carousel Casualties and international DJs like Hyper Potions. The three-day event also has activities for every kind of attendee, from makeup masterclasses to songwriting workshops.

Community takes centerstage

With all the excitement and entertainment in store for attendees, CONQuest’s ultimate goal is to create a platform for creators to interact with their fans, as well as tap into the large community of avid Filipino gaming and pop culture fans. With the festival wanting to be the bridge that fosters the already strong fan culture in the country, CONQuest 2023 is shaping up to be an exciting weekend for all attendees.
