When asked about her hosting style, Lyka says, “I love making jokes. Minsan on the crass side, but I try to control it naman.” Her co-hosts describe her as “babaeng bakla” or the motherly figure of the group, and she admits that Vice Ganda is one of her hosting inspirations. With Lyka, what you see is what you get, and keeping it real is definitely her style. She also embodies the “BS Org” lifestyle that Ateneo is widely known for. She is an active member of Ateneo ENTABLADO, Ateneo Association of Communication Majors, and Matanglawin. She is also the current Analysis and Discourse Cluster Head of the Council of Organizations in Ateneo and the Communication Management Head of the Ateneo Task Force. Lyka’s done it all. Well, now she’s done it all. As a host, Lyka thinks she brings a new image this year, being one of the few (if not the only) plus-sized OrSem hosts so far. “The message I want the freshmen to see when they see me, is not that, you know, ‘big girls can do what thin girls can do’ or ‘ugly people can do what pretty people can do,’ the message is really that you can do anything that you want. No matter how you look.”
