PhilYourBuns review

When it comes to food themes and concepts, students are always on the lookout for stalls that can satisfy their many cravings. PhilYourBuns promises to do just that with their delicious selection of American comfort food.

Taste

The Philly Cheese Steak is their bestseller. Expect the sukiyaki-cut beef seasoning to have a bit of spice to it, while the American cheese and buttered onions provide a sweet taste. Despite the promising flavor, it is admittedly a bit dry. It can be served on a bun or with rice (this choice is also available for the other two meals). For chicken lovers, the Chicken Cheese Steak has practically the same taste, although it is evidently juicier than the Philly Cheese Steak.

The Hungarian Sausage, along with buttered onions, bell peppers, gravy, and cheese, bursts with flavor and is clearly the star of the menu. You won’t get anything else like this in JSEC.

For a quick snack, the tangy, sour cream flavored popcorn is a must-try. This soft, buttery snack is lightly dusted with a not-too sour flavoring that’s perfect for munching in between classes.

Concept

PhilYourBuns was borne out of the owners’ cravings for feel-good American food after a trip to Philadelphia. They sought to capture that warmth-bringing taste that is quintessential in American food.

Value for Money

The cost of meals range from Php 90-130. The price points are a bit steep for students on a budget, but this is because of their premium ingredients. If you feel like treating yourself to a good meal, PhilYourBuns is a good option.

Final Verdict

PhilYourBuns delivers on their promise of satisfying comfort food with its choice ingredients, although the flavor may be underwhelming at times. But the option of having a good meal on a bun or with rice is a smart consideration for busy students. With its wide array of choices, PhilYourBuns offers comfort food for the student on-the-go or the student that likes to take his or her time savoring the meal.
