Back in 2012 when Dearest, was a new name in the industry, it was just the 3 of us: Miles, Jackie and Andrew. We worked together with Juan Carlos Velez Castaño back then to find our sound. Honestly Dearest, would not have even happened if it weren't for that moment.
The person who really made us believe in our music and that people could actually like it was Luis Katigbak. He wrote about our band, about how our name represented "letters you write to someone you love" and how ...our music could resonate with everyone.
It was Luis Katigbak who gave us our first ever big break and on Philstar no less. It was Luis Katigbak who gave life through words into our newly formed band, our only original back then called - Time to Go.
It was Luis Katigbak who made us believe in ourselves as musicians by supporting us from literally the very beginning.
Hearing of his passing today saddens us and we believe the industry has lost a truly great listener. One thing he's taught us is that anyone has a chance to be heard.
Thanks for giving us the push we needed back then, Luis. We will be sure to pray for you up there. Keep on listening!
