Blendabowls Review
October 14, 2018

Ateneans are no strangers to hot, muggy afternoons in JSEC. On those days, only the cold seems to be helpful, and respite is found in chilled, sweet treats, like shakes, smoothies, or fruit bowls. Lucky for everyone, Blendabowls serves just that.

Taste

It’s hard to miss the Bumbowl, which, with its honey-toned stripes, resembles its namesake, the bumblebee. The first thing you’ll notice about this delectable dessert is its incredible creamy and luscious texture. The delightful taste of bananas and mangoes, which is supported by a faint hint of coconut, come together harmoniously for a honeyed, melt-in-your-mouth experience that’s great for unwinding after a long day of school.

The magenta-colored Bbowl is an extra-thick bowl that packs a flavorful punch. This bowl, which is made from a mixture of berries, tastes bracingly tart and is sure to energize with its sharp flavor. The flavor of the berries go well with the unique sweet-yet-bitter taste of the cacao nibs on top, making the bowl perfect for a midday snack.

Concept

Smoothies have always been a great way to cool off and relax, but they are much more so when they’re served in a bowl and made completely with healthy and organic ingredients and toppings. Blendabowls uses no ice or water, opting instead to make their smoothie bowls entirely out of frozen fruit. As a result, their bowls have a rich, fruity taste and are filling enough to double as a light meal.

Value for Money

Each bowl contains a sufficient serving of the fruit blends that can satisfy anyone craving for a dessert. With the bowls sold at Php 90-100 apiece, Blendabowls has good value for money, considering they provide ample toppings and managing to keep their smoothie bowls thick, velvety, and consistently flavorful.

Final Verdict

Blendabowls provides an experience unlike any other stall in JSEC. Made with organic ingredients, their smoothie bowls are refreshing with distinct and unique flavors. They are also served chilled and are a great way to beat the Atenean heat.
