Metro Manila Film Festival 2020 Reviews

It’s no secret that the global film industry has been upended because of the pandemic. What more for local cinema? Moviehouses and film studios have operated in limited capacities, while avid viewers have turned to online streaming services as a temporary relief for their in-house moviegoing experiences. Despite these changes, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) pushed through for the first time in an all-digital and internationally-available platform.

Available to watch in video-on-demand website Upstream, the films in this year’s MMFF can be streamed from December 25, 2020 to January 7, 2021. The slate featured a dynamic range of stories: From complicated family dramas to an obsessed fangirl and even to thrilling horror stories.
